Job Description:
Claims Consultant
*Annual Salary: £25,000 + performance related bonus scheme
*Location: Watford
*Job Type: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
Join our client’s dynamic team in the specialist health insurance sector. As a Claims Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality customer service throughout the claims journey, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to their business targets.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assess and authorise claims via telephone, post, and e-mail, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
*Provide follow-up support for existing claims and written confirmations of claims decisions and notifications.
*Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including data protection, business security, conduct risk, consumer duty, and fraud & anti-money laundering.
*Communicate clearly and professionally with clients by phone and in written form, providing customer service excellence.
*Attend regular review meetings and appraisals to monitor progress and identify training needs.
*Suggest improvements to processes to enhance efficiency within the team and improve client services.
*Build professional relationships and foster team spirit with peers and colleagues.
*Support team members with training and collaborate to achieve team goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service and claims handling.
*Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
*Exceptional verbal and communication skills, with the ability to use concise, clear, and appropriate language.
*Excellent organisational skills; ability to manage multiple demands.
*Empathetic, with the ability to understand and respond to different views.
*Proactive approach and ’can-do’ mentality, with the ability to respond well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Benefits:
*35 hours per week (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break each day).
*Company pension scheme (auto enrolled).
*Death in service 10x salary (immediately on appointment).
*Voluntary dental coverage after completion of the probationary period.
*Company-paid private medical insurance after 6 months of employment.
*Performance-related bonus scheme (subject to bonus scheme rules regarding eligibility).
*23 days holiday per year.
