Road Freight Forwarder *Annual Salary: Circa £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

We are seeking a Road Freight Forwarder with a strong background in Freight Forwarding or Distribution, particularly within the EU trailers department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a solid understanding of European Road Freight logistics.
Day-to-day of the role: *Process and arrange collections and deliveries in line with arrival and sailing schedules
*Liaise with hauliers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely collection of cargo and on-time delivery
*Maintain clear visibility of stock by working closely with the team
*Chase and provide documents relating to stock and deliveries
*Negotiate rates with hauliers and customers to improve business profit margins
*Handle processing of UK and potentially EU customs clearance
*Issue daily and weekly reports to ensure departmental deadlines are met
*Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transactions with all customers
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Minimum of 2 years’ experience in EU Road Freight, with a strong background in a Freight Forwarding department
*Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner
*Proficient computer skills; additional training will be provided for in-house systems
*Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
*Strong knowledge of customs clearance and European documentation is desirable
