Our client, a growing manufacturing company are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team on site in Rochdale.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and reviewing CAD drawings, preparing accurate cost calculations, sourcing materials, and optimising designs to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
What you’ll be doing:
*Work with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to create, review, and modify detailed technical drawings
*Calculate accurate project costs, considering materials, labour, and overheads to ensure competitive pricing
*Source and purchase materials, negotiating the best prices to keep costs low without compromising quality
*Collaborate with production teams to ensure job feasibility and cost accuracy
*Advise customers on design improvements and manufacturing optimisations
*Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assess project requirements
*Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and precise estimates
*Keep up to date with industry trends, materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques
What we’re looking for:
*Proven experience as an Estimator in the sheet metal or wider metal manufacturing industry
*Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred)
*Deep understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes
*Excellent numerical skills with a keen eye for detail
*Ability to problem-solve and optimise designs for manufacturing efficiency
*Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers
*Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
*Experience with Radan or similar CNC programming software is a plus!
