Job Description:
About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our clients’ Finance team. This role is critical in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our clients’ organisation by ensuring accurate invoicing, monitoring receivables, managing tax claims, and supporting other finance-related functions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities * Manage invoicing for various income streams, including donor contributions, travel recoveries, and insurance reimbursements, in compliance with financial agreements and regulations.
* Prepare and submit tax and levy claims (e.g., VAT) to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and handle subsequent queries.
* Maintain and update customer master data and oversee the issuance of credit notes.
* Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts, issue reminders, and contribute to year-end assessments for doubtful debts and write-offs.
* Reconcile accounts receivable-related ledger balances and address any external audit observations.
* Provide operational support to other finance functions during staff absences or peak periods, including Accounts Payable, UNDP and Subcontractor management, Treasury, and Cafeteria operations.
Candidate ProfileProfessional Experience * Minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial accounting, analysis, and reporting.
* Demonstrated experience with financial systems is essential; prior use of SAP is highly advantageous.
Education * A university degree in Finance or Accounting.
* Part-qualified or working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CIMA, or ACCA) is highly desirable.
Language Skills * Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Technical Skills * Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
* Strong working knowledge of financial systems; familiarity with SAP is a strong asset.
