Job Description:
Background

Currently recruiting an experienced Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join our UK&I Property Team in London.
Comprised of enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals, the UK Property team is continuously looking for ways to evolve our clients’ understanding and view of catastrophe risk. Working very closely with our brokers, academic partners and our model evaluation specialists enables us to perform and draw from expert analysis and experience to make better decisions for our clients.


Key Responsibilities

*Be the client analytics lead on reinsurance analytics and lead the interaction across multiple cat and non-cat analytics projects and placements.
*Lead client portfolios analysis using catastrophe analytics and apply reinsurance structures to these portfolios. Lead client interaction on pressing topics like View of Risk, Climate Change, Inflation and Event Response.
*Lead conversations with reinsurers, brokers and actuaries to understand exposures, review modelling results, explain modelling limitations and resolve issues
*Additionally collaborating with colleagues and client teams outside of the
*Participate in corporate practice groups and committees related to cat modelling and cat risk
*Advise clients on potential incurred losses, post-event and on risk management
*Contributing to the suite of proprietary analytical and efficiency tools developed by


Skills and Experience

*5+ years of experience in catastrophe analytics in a broking house, at insurers, reinsurers, or similar financial services.
*MSc or higher qualification ideally in, finance, statistics, science or equivalent
*Experience in the following:
*Catastrophe modelling experience with vendor models (RMS, AIR, JBA, CoreLogic)
*Catastrophe Model Validation and Evaluation
*Implementation of Climate Change solutions
*Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing)
*Strong computer skills in MS Office suite (skills in programming and machine learning are highly beneficial)
*Tableau or PowerBI experience
*Coding skills in Python, SQL, R (additional ability to use programming for GIS desired)
