Teaching Assistant - Reception
Central Leeds - Primary School
Start Date: Immediate
Reed Education are working closely with a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) and are actively recruiting Teaching Assistants for their Primary schools reception classes based in Leeds to work on a short-term basis. Within this position, you will be required to support and assist individual students or small groups to help them throughout their school day.
We are working alongside the Trust to source candidates that want to make a positive impact on the lives and learning journeys of all students. You should be able to build strong working relationships quickly, with staff and students alike.
This work will see you support students with a variety of different needs and learning capabilities, giving you variety in your working week and aiding your professional development through exposure to different learning strategies and situations.

The ideal candidate will:
• Be patient and able to build strong working relationships with children.
• Have an empathetic nature.
• Be approachable, kind and caring towards all children within the school, and have a thorough understanding of safeguarding in a school setting.
• Have experience working with special needs.
• Have good behaviour management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing the classroom for each session, alongside the class teacher.
• Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
• Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records.
• Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour.
Requirements:
• Candidates would be required to have an Enhanced DBS.
• Available to work immediately.
